Hove Pizzeria Stretch Wins Second Place at National Pizza Awards
Stretch, a Hove-based pizzeria run by chef Brigi Stamber, has been named runner-up at the National Pizza Awards following her recent launch.
Award Recognition for Hove Pizzeria
Stretch, located in Hove, has taken second place at this year's National Pizza Awards. Chef Brigi Stamber was recognised for her standout pizza at the competition.
The accolade arrives shortly after Ms Stamber opened her first solo pizzeria, having previously worked for several years with Pizzaface.
A spokesman for the National Pizza Awards said: "Second place went to Brigi Stamber, who only recently launched her first solo pizzeria Stretch in Hove, following many years with Pizzaface."
National Competition Results
The final took place on 3 November at London's Big Penny Social and featured 16 finalists from across the UK, including both independent and group pizza operators.
Five Feet in London claimed the top prize for National Pizza of the Year. Chef Jack Ellingham won with Five Feet's "Sausage and Broccoli" pizza, a Sicilian and Grandma-style pie featuring vodka sauce, pecorino, oregano, chilli, sausage, fior di latte, provolone, friarelli, pickled chillies, ricotta and coolea.
Mr Ellingham also won the Pizza Chef of the Year title in the technical round, where chefs were challenged to create a pizza using ingredients from the competition's sponsors.
Third place was awarded to Rory Cunningham from Bad Boy Pizza Society, which has won the National Pizza Awards twice before.
Adam Brown from Newcastle's CIRCO won the Alternative Slice Award for the best free-from pizza, whilst the Bloggers' Choice Award went to East West's Devinder Singh for his Indian-inspired "Silence of the Lambs" pizza.

All 2026 winners will now be invited to compete at the National Pizza Awards Champion of Champions cook-off in February next year.
