Council says the Pride street party has not been cancelled
A leaked draft events list showed the Kemp Town street party as cancelled, but the council says that was a mistake.
A draft of the city's 2027 events programme, shared on social media, listed the Kemp Town Pride street party as cancelled and set off rumours online. Brighton & Hove City Council says the document was an early draft that should not have been made public, and that no decision to drop the street party has been taken.
The council's cabinet member for culture said plans for next summer are still being worked on with Pride CIC and other partners, and that Pride remains one of the biggest weekends of the year for the city and its economy. Brighton Pride's managing director, Paul Kemp, confirmed that no details for Pride 2027 have been agreed at this stage.
The council says the 2027 events programme will be settled in late November.
