The neighbourhood around Brighton's largest park, wide avenues of Edwardian houses, a velodrome, and its own station. Popular with families and commuters. BN1.
Preston Park takes its name from the city's largest park, a broad expanse of open lawns, flower beds, tennis courts and a velodrome a little under two miles north of the seafront along the London Road corridor. The park is flanked by the historic Preston Manor and the famous Preston Park Clock Tower, and hosts major events including the start of Brighton Pride and the Brighton Marathon.
The residential neighbourhood around it is one of the most desirable in the city, with wide avenues of substantial Edwardian and Victorian houses popular with families and London commuters, who are well served by Preston Park station. The Rockery, the largest municipal rock garden in Britain, sits across the main road, and the area balances generous green space with quick links into the centre and up to the South Downs.
