A taste of Sussex summer

South Lodge has launched a delightful new summer afternoon tea that celebrates the very best of Sussex's culinary heritage. The refreshed menu draws inspiration from the estate's surrounding countryside, incorporating flavours from local orchards, vineyards and kitchen gardens to create a truly regional experience.

Sweet and savoury delights

Guests can look forward to an array of treats that showcase Sussex produce. The menu features Ridgeview cured salmon sandwiches with compressed grapes and dill crème fraîche, offering a sophisticated take on traditional afternoon tea fare. For those with a sweeter tooth, a honey and elderflower gâteau paired with basil whipped ganache and lemon curd promises an indulgent highlight.

The classic elements of afternoon tea haven't been forgotten either, with traditional plain and golden raisin scones served alongside clotted cream and strawberry jam.

Where to enjoy your tea

The afternoon tea experience can be enjoyed in several settings across the estate. Guests can relax in the drawing room, take advantage of the sunlit terrace for warmer days, or dine in the hotel's 3 AA Rosette restaurant, Camellia, for a more formal occasion.

Perfect pairings

For those looking to enhance their experience, the afternoon tea can be paired with a glass of Ridgeview Bloomsbury NV English Sparkling Wine, adding another touch of local Sussex flavour to the occasion.

Booking your experience

The afternoon tea is priced from £49.50 per person and can be booked via the South Lodge website. It's an ideal way to celebrate the summer season whilst supporting a local business that takes pride in showcasing the region's finest ingredients and hospitality.
