Rising London band Saint Clair announce summer headline show at Green Door Store
Saint Clair, a London four-piece, will perform at Brighton's Green Door Store on July 28 following the release of their new single.
Rising talent heading to Brighton this summer
Brighton music lovers have plenty to look forward to this summer with the announcement that rising London band Saint Clair will perform at The Green Door Store on July 28.
The four-piece — comprising Toby Bardsley on vocals and guitar, Lawrence Bordean on guitar, Adam Anderson on bass and Beth Diana on drums — have already made an impressive mark on the live music scene since launching in April.
They've already performed at some of the UK and Europe's most prestigious venues and festivals, including Liverpool's Sound City, London's 100 Club, Amsterdam's London Calling festival, and The Great Escape, where they performed at The Green Door Store during one of the weekend's most competitive timeslots.
New music on the horizon
The Brighton show follows the recent release of their single Gretchen and comes ahead of their debut EP Something To Be Said, which drops on July 17.
Gretchen opens with Bardsley's intimate vocals and acoustic guitar before the full band joins in, creating what the band describes as a "what if" love letter exploring the complexities of modern relationships. The track balances romance with the realities of life's competing responsibilities.
Frontman Toby Bardsley explained the band's creative philosophy: "We're creating a good blend between the four of us. Simple and human yet unique and relatable."
The debut EP explores deeper themes across its four tracks, charting the transition from youthful hopefulness to adult reality. Beyond Gretchen, Bardsley takes on protective and familial roles on other songs, while their debut single Too Young To Notice looks back on younger years with mature understanding.
A collaborative approach
The band came together during university in Wembley, where Bardsley, Bordean and Anderson met in student halls. They worked with studio engineer Andrea Cozzaglio — known for his work with Young Fathers and A$AP Rocky — to record early demos in Tottenham.
Drummer Beth Diana joined the band in 2024, bringing influences from nu-metal and hip-hop to Saint Clair's sound, adding fresh dimensions to their musical palette.
When it comes to their approach to songwriting and performance, Bardsley is clear about their priorities: "There is always a temptation to do too much as an instrumentalist, we've gone past that in favour of trying to serve the song itself. We want to be a songs band, not a musicians' band."
With their impressive trajectory so far and exciting new material ready to share, Saint Clair's Brighton headline show promises to be a memorable evening for fans of thoughtful, well-crafted indie music.
