Brighton's most iconic landmark is set to host a truly unforgettable evening this summer. The Royal Pavilion will be transformed into a fantasy world for a one-off Palace of Dragons Banquet on Thursday, July 2, promising an experience like no other.

This historic event marks the first time in known history that a Chinese banquet has been served at the Royal Pavilion. Built for King George IV, the palace is celebrated for its dramatic Asian-influenced design, making it the perfect setting for this spectacular culinary journey.

An Immersive Evening of Fantasy

The evening is designed to transport guests into a world of fantasy and wonder, combining storytelling, live performance, and exquisite food in one of the country's most visually spectacular settings. The experience begins at 6:30pm in the great kitchen, where guests will be treated to a welcome drink called dragon's breath punch.

From there, the journey continues to the music room for live entertainment, before culminating in a theatrical three-course banquet in the opulent banqueting room. Throughout the evening, guests will be entertained by live harp music and immersive storytelling that explores the folklore of dragons.

What to Expect on the Menu

The carefully curated menu includes canapés and a three-course dinner, with menu highlights featuring a dragon's egg dessert—a dish created exclusively for the event. All tickets include alcoholic and soft drinks alongside the culinary delights.

David Purdue, senior events manager at the Royal Pavilion, said the banquet will come alive as "a one-off, after-hours experience like no other," where guests will experience a fully realised fantasy in one of the most visually spectacular settings in the country.

Ticket Information

Tickets are priced at £195 per person and include canapés, a three-course meal, alcoholic and soft drinks, and entertainment. Members of the Royal Pavilion receive a 15 per cent discount on tickets.

Guests are encouraged to dress in fantasy-inspired attire, though it is not required. The event runs from 6:30pm to 11pm, and advanced booking is essential.

Tickets can be purchased through the Brighton and Hove Museums website at brightonmuseums.org.uk/event/palace-of-dragons-banquet/
